  Charming analogous hues, deceptively simple in form yet ubiquitous, Echinacea or Coneflower always seem to attract my attention. With its healing powers to improve your immunity and overall well-being, the herbaceous flowering plant in the daisy family is an icon of summer.Above are some simple color combinations where warm neutrals add calm to stimulating palettes. I'm naturally drawn to saturated and vivid hues although they can communicate an unsophisticated youthful presence, there's an irresistible boost of joyful visual vibrations.

Summer Blues

Mark-making is a great exercise for exploring new materials and expressing conscious and unconscious emotional states. The other day I was feeling an unsettling, persistent tension sensation in the middle of my forehead. Worry thoughts and trying to figure things out had me in a stressed state. After doing an hour of marks, I felt more relaxed and focused on being in the present rather than planning and goal setting.I enjoy playing with pastels and love the messy process.
